Back in the saddle...

I finally got back on my bike again after a month off (surgery, doctors orders, crappy weather, yada… yada… yada…).

Since the monsoon rains yesterday washed off the roads--they weren’t salty--so I took an hour or so spin around the neighborhood - Man it felt good!

A little more water here now since my deer encounter

Recumbent Ride - Quickie

A quickie around my parents neighborhood.... Historical interest? Just that the Pine Hill Development  is replacing the woods at the end of Crooked Street...

The car whizzing past me on Crooked Street must have thought I was  crazy - shooting a one-handed video on a weird bike!

Hangin' out with the Deer

November 1st
I took a day off on Friday and after, dusting off the trombone and practicing a bit. I decided to take a ride around the neighborhood, It was overcast and crappy but at least there wasn't any rain.

I rode down to thru Darien on Rt 106, stopping park a small park off Heather Lane. I noticed this crazy tree that, despite being chopped down and tossed horizontally on the  ground, it just kept growing! Ah the resilience of trees!  :-)

Close Encounters

I then went on to Glenbrook and came back up thru the industrial park. I stopped for second by the river and 4 deer were calmly nibbling on leaves near the water's edge. We stood there staring at each other for some time and I was able to snap a few photos. (It was an overcast day so the snapshots are somewhat dull...)
